| Abstract: | Disability is an important public health problem especially in developing countries like India.The disabled are the people who have physical, visual, mental or hearing impairment. Education brings knowledge and it is necessary part of human development. So, it is necessary for every child to get education, whether he is normal, abnormal or handicapped or disabled. Education and library are two inseparable- indivisible concepts. Education cannot exist alone in the absence of library and library has no meaning if it cannot impart education.library is essential to any formal educational system, the facilities offered by the library are also required by the disabled children who is a wage-earner but who is engaged in improving his or her education, whether at the remedial, functional or higher educational level. Libraries are regarded as one of the institutions that have a role in advancing literacy and education in the society .The importance of the library in the service of disabled children cannot be overestimated. The full length describes the role of different library services provided to the disabled children. |
